When people think of Chelsea Hire, they probably think of marquees, tables, chairs and everything needed to create a great event. But there's another side to our business that has been quietly developing for around 25 years – our commercial laundry.

 

 

Why did we start our own laundry?

Around 25 years ago, we found ourselves with a problem. We needed a reliable laundry service that could provide consistently high-quality results for the linen used within our hire business. Unfortunately, we couldn't find a laundry that consistently delivered the standard we were looking for. Rather than compromise on quality, we decided to do something about it.

 

We set up our own commercial laundry. What started as a solution to our own requirements has grown into a successful laundry operation supporting hundreds of businesses across Northamptonshire with their linen requirements.

Quality we can control

Having our own laundry gives us something incredibly important: control. We don't have to send our linen away and hope it comes back to the standard our customers expect. Our team manages the process from start to finish, allowing us to maintain high standards and identify any issues quickly. For an event hire company, this is particularly important. Beautifully presented linen can make a huge difference to the appearance of a room, wedding breakfast or event. Clean, crisp and professionally finished linen is one of those details that can transform a table setting.

A more sustainable approach

We're also conscious of the environmental impact of commercial laundry. That's why we continually look at ways of improving the efficiency of our operation, from the chemicals we use through to the energy required to wash and dry linen. We use sustainable laundry chemicals and LPG gas for our commercial dryers, providing an efficient alternative to traditional natural gas-powered drying.

 

We're constantly looking at ways to reduce energy consumption and improve efficiency without compromising the quality of the finished product. For us, sustainability isn't about making big claims.

It's about making sensible improvements to the way we operate and continuing to look for better ways of doing things.
